I am working on assembling a 1970 Chevelle SS convertable 454 at work that came into our shop in boxes. We have the car mostly put together, the motor is running, but there are a few wiring issues. The biggest problem is that the alternator is charging way too much, about 16 amps. The other problem is that none of the gauges are working, and everything behind the cluster is plugged in. I am not sure if there is a ground missing from the harness, but so far I am at a loss as to what is causing this. If anyone knows these cars pretty well and has any ideas, I would really appreciate any help a lot!! Thanks in advance for the help!
