    Rearend for 39 Chevy

What chevrolet rear ends fit best under a 39 Chevy ? Also need a good hi-way gear ratio.

I have a friend who has a 40 and runs a 55 chevy rear end. if the 39 has the same width that might work. and since an s-10 fits a 55 chevy that might work. 3:08 is a good ratio.

If you need some measurements on the S-10, let me know. I'll be at the shop tomorrow, and will measure the one under my Dodge.

I had a 71 10 bolt Nova under my 39 coupe, then I went to a 69 Camaro 12 bolt. I have known many guys that run mid 50's chevy rear ends but those are getting hard to find. The 72 and on chevy cars are too wide and I am not sure about the S-10 but those are a smaller 10 bolt (7.5) so watch out if your going with a torque motor

You can always use a 9" ford and cut it to what you want
