Power steering
Ok I got the car back in the garage to start working on it again. Got some parts coming in that I bought. Got the engine and tranny to put in it. Now to figure out the steering.
I want to put power steering in, What do I need to switch out for it to work? I am looking at a power steering pump of a 66 a body. What else will I need for this to work?

Tim, you'll have to bring me up to speed. What front suspension is in the car?
-
Its the original right now. I am still looking for a different one, just want to drive the car this summer, hopefully. Then next winter I will switch out the front end.

Also if it matters the rearend will be a chevy 10 bolt. The engine is a slant 6 225 out of a 76 aspen along with the tranny.

You'll need to swap in a power steering box and adapt it to the '49 drag link/tie rods. Then adapt it to your steering column.

Thanks Tech, I was thinking thats what I had to do, I got the front end all taken off, So I think I will do all that now before I put it all back on after primering it.
Which box would you recommend? What would be the easiest to adapt? Or would it be easier to change out the whole steering column and box? If so which would fit?
