'40 Ford Brake Question
Ok, here is one for brake experts out there:
My Son has '40 Ford front brakes on the front of the '29 he is building. He is going to use braided brake lines which have #3an female ends on them. He knows he needs adapters to turn the AN ends into 7/16-20 male threads that the stock '40 Ford wheel cylinders have.
He bought the brake lines and adapters, but here is the problem. The wheel cylinders normally take the stock Ford hose which has an end on it that has the bullet nose on the end of that hose. His adapters have an inverted flare end that will not seal into that wheel cylinder.
He has checked with every supplier we can find, and everyone only makes the normal inverted flare to AN adapter.
Other guys have evidently run braided lines on a '40 type front brake. How did you get it to seal? Do you know anyone who would make such an adapter?
Thanks, Don
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
