Thread: matching numbers

I have a 1966 impala SS convertible with the following numbers:
vin#168676F167816 and engine #T0323S. I was told by the seller this is a 327 and is a matching numbers car. Can someone please tell how to verify this?

My book lists the "S" as a 62-64 327, 250 hp 4bbl powerglide.

For a 66 327, the letter codes are different than S in every case; ie, no S in any of the codes

Perhaps someone has better info??
