New Project Journal Page

I have found a location for a project journal that allows me to put some narrative along with my pictures. I still think that CHR is the best, but do like the journal set up at Hotrodder. As you can see I am making some progress and am encountering a few challenges. Some days it one step forward and two back, others it's full steam ahead. I am confident it will still be running by spring. You may recognize some things from discussions here on the board such as the fuel tank mounting.

You can see my journal here. I have spent some of my Christmas holiday getting everything entered and am just about caught up. Worked on the fuel tank mount today and that is the last entry.

Very nice, I've tried to document my builds but have always found it difficult to take just a few pictures........ Keep up the excellent work.

If you haven't already planned it, you might want to weld a bracket on to hold that upper steering box boss while it's all accessible.

Thanks everyone! I agree it does take a little extra time to document. The pictures on there are only about 1/4 of the ones I have taken. Love those digital cameras! I also took a lot of pictures and made notes as I was disassembling things so I have a reference to put it back together. My memory is good, it's just short! Kind of building my own shop manual.

Bob there are bosses for 4 bolts on the steering box. It is in the standard location using 3 of them to attach. I think GM made the steering boxes somewhat universal for different applications. I believe that one you see on top is "extra" in this Nova/Camaro subframe application. The box is mounted on there pretty securely with three bolts now. I will double check though, good eyes!

Man, are '53-'54 Studes a beautiful car, or what? I owned two of them, one stock and one with a 283 Chevy, and regret ever getting rid of them.

They say you never forget where you were when you heard of President Kennedy being assasinated. I know exactly where I was. A buddy and I were trying to get the one with the Chevy running. Lady who owned the house came out and told us he had been shot. Little while later she came back and gave us the final bad news. Kind of was the end of innocence, that day.

Anyway, your Stude is just terrific. You have done a great job on it, and should be proud.
