Notta Hot Rod!
An old friend of the family said his brother has a 1937 Packard Six resting in a barn.
So what's one of these look like?
Since it's rather far away from where I live, I'm wondering if it's worth following up?
I love old cars but Packards have never been on my list!
Your thoughts?

Packards are sweet!! Lots of room under the hood and most so-called "hot rodders" wouldn't even guess what it is!! Go for it.

Madgrinder...is that a 37 Packard Six?
KOOL!
...Though he told me it has a "cloth top".
I assume he meant it's a convertible?

It may be a convertible, or it may be a sedan (like a Ford Victoria) with two doors. In those days, they couldn't roll out a solid sheet of steel for the roof, so they had a backer board with a cloth insert in the center of the roof.

Sorry, cant' find any 2-door sedan pic's.
Just think about the Packard six in the picture making out with
a Vicky and what it would look like in 9 months.

Here's a pic of a 115 (six cylinder) convertible coupe, without hood.

wild goose chase!
Well I made the long drive to check this out and it was indeed a 37 Packard Six that looks similar to the touring sedan in Bob's last post.
It was this old guys mothers who bought it new. He last drove the car in 1957 then parked it. Unfortunately it was NOT stored in a barn and was comlpetely rusted...Wisconsin winters will do that ya know!
This was one of those stories I just HAD to follow up on or forever regret that I hadn't... becuase ya just never know!
By the way, did ya hear the one about...
