probably, most advance auto and autozone stuff is made in china/ japan and yes is lesser quality and they have oddball brands, Napa stuff is made in USA and is there own brand, or a better brand than theres with there label/ name on it, like napa gold oil filters being Wix filters.
i would not be so shure on that matt
The first ones I bought for my Rambler were from Napa I then went to Auto Zone to see if they had them and when the guy brought them out they were the same brand in the same box as the Napa onesQuote:

Worked out good for me ;)

If you are talking about your 1965 1/2 ton pickup bigtruck, you have to replace the "Control Arm Shaft Assembly" on it if its worn out. There is no rubber bushings, and they cost more. You didn't give a lot of details so if IM assuming to much let me know. auto zone didnt show that they carried them.Quote:

Not true. I went to my local NAPA last weekend to buy a new Harmonic Balancer and he brought out one stamped "Made in China". He brought out two more and they were chinese too. AutoZone sells a variety of stuff some of it is made in US- like FelPro and ACDelco, although I assume most is made overseas.Quote:

I don't think Napa never clamed made in America. I know a lot of their stuff come out of Mexico. I deal with them because yrs ago they was the only ones, around here. if they give you their better price, they have the best price also. Price is not the bottom line for me, ill pay a little more when I find someone that knows what ther're talking about.Quote:

Could be the size of the purchases they made too. For instance Wall-Mart can afford to buy in bigger bulk than mom and pop stores. There are some things that autozone is higher then napa, it may just depend on how good of a bulk deal each one got, just a thought.
Matt, might want to check the box and part labeling at NAPA before you make a blanket statement like that....... I don't know of any parts stores that are 100% made in the USA parts........
No, its for a 89 suburban ,but thanks for your help.:D I am going to replace all the old worn parts on the front end.All tie rods, idler arm, bushings, ect.I took it to get a front end alingment and to replace the bushings on 1 side ,and 2 tie rods they wanted to charge me 800 dollars.Hell I can replace ALL the parts on the front end for less then half of what they were charging to replace 2 tie rods, and half of the bushings.:( I have never been one to replace one part ,if one is bad the others are soon to fail also.Quote:

Ok, maby not 100% but for anything to do with old vehicles, I'll go to NAPA or Carquest cause there, If I go for a fuel pump for 1 of my obsolete engines, I know I'm probably going to get a factory carter rebuilt or a factory Fomoco rebuilt depending on parts, and the fact the employees don't look at you crosseyed when you tell them your car has vacume wipers.Quote:
