How to convert 6 volt to 12 volt
What if anything do I need to do to convert 6 volt horns to 12 volt? I have heard to do nothing, use a 12 volt relay ect. Tell me what you have done that works.

Hi JL, if u are not planning on using those horns all the time then an occasional 12 volt blast wont hurt them. Im in the process of doing my 53 Ford tudor. I will change out the bulbs for 12 volt. Then get a resistor for the guages.Choose your battles well===If it dont go chrome it

Depends on the horn. The cool old "oogah" ones with a motor in them sound shrill and don't last long, you need a resistor in the circuit. The diaphragm type will work if you don't blast them for long periods, but the points will burn out rather quickly.

suggest you knock the heater motor back to 6 volts too, same for the fuel sender!!, the starter will be o.k.
