Thought I'd post this for Dave or anybody else hunting for a dash mount mirror.
The 57 Mopars had the mirror mounted in the in the center of the front windshield garnish. The base is removable by taking out the three mounting screws, but it does have a couple of pretty big tangs on the bottom that would have to be ground off to make it fit another dash.
In 58 and up, Mopar moved the mirror to the rear of the dash. I don't know if the mount is swedged on or held on with a big nut. This style may be easier to mount in a custom application.
There a a few little pieces that make up the mirror assembly, from my experience the one that's hardest to find is the little plastic cup that mounts in the base (grab these where you can find them Dave).
There were various legnth stems used on different cars, and as far as mirror heads ranging from plain, to day night (both in painted .. the most common and chrome) and even an electronically controlled automatic dimming mirror.

By the way Dave if the 57 base like I've shown will work for you and you can't find one, I do have an extra (hope you like red :LOL: :LOL: )
Thanks for the info again Mike. Shouldn't be much problem finding old Mopar stuff around here. I will keep it in mind if I strike out on the search, though.

At a starting bid of $325 for something that needs fixed, a bit pricey for me but a working one might be an interesting addition.
