I ran copper 22 years ago 1" it is still there and holds 175lbs all the time. If your compressor is not solid mounted to the floor you will need to leave some room for movement, maybe the flex line will work.

I actually bought 1.0" x 5' piece of 300 psi hose from mcmaster-carr for $35. I just didn't want any chance of pipes rattling... (the compressor is in another room)
The real stuff made for that purpose is a rubber hose with stainless braided sheath. Available from any commercial compressor dealer.Quote:

I like the response to copper. I might end up, as someone suggested, with 3/4" along the top of the wall and instead of drops, put two or three reels in. Those are great to keep from having hoses laying all around. It also takes care of the problem of a fragile copper tube. Your drops would be too high to really get damaged.
