dash lights not working

I am working on a 1966 chevy impala ss. The dash lights do not work checked the fuse is good no power to the fuse box. Thanks

working on the same problem with a 65 C10. Where I left off, had traced the 'hot' side of the fuse : it went back out across the wire harness, and I suspect it draws its power from the starter. Haven't confirmed it yet... will get another look at it this weekend.

Guys I'd start looking at the headlamp switch, you get the voltage feed for the dash lights from there,usually the reostat ( dash light dimmer) is bad......

If it's anything like my 69 Camaro, and you're not getting power at the fuse block, I doubt it will be the headlamp switch. The power hits the fuseblock first then the lamp switch.

Check the connection on the engine side of the firewall at the fuseblock. You might want to disconnect both the harnesses and reconnect them. Also, while you've got it disconnected you might check the continuity of the pins and the positive lead from your battery. If there isn't continuity at the appropriate pins the problem lies between there and the battery. If it's good, start looking further up the circuit.

I had some terrible problems with the wiring on my Camaro. Besides some previous owner doing all sorts of hacked custom wiring (all in black too) in the engine compartment there were all sorts of intermittent problems at the fuseblock connection. I really, really wish I replaced the engine, headlamp and tail lamp harnesses much sooner than I finally did.

16DG is your power wire coming off the headlamp switch rheostat, goes to dash lamp fuse and wire 20DG goes to dash connector.........no power at fuse? it's gotta be at the headlamp switch (assuming the headlamps work)
Remember though this is only a typical early chev.diagram.....

i kou mean about the dash lights not working and the easiest wayt to fix this is a ZIPPO lol
