Which would be better electric or mechanical fuel pump? Was looking at a holley electric but not sure which is better? Would feed my Q-jet on a 305, unless I get a 350 for x-mass:)
Thanks,
Charles

For a 305 or mild to medium built 350 the mechanical pump should be plenty.
One feature I knda like about electrics though is they can be either activated turned on or off manually. Like a hidden toggle switch under the dash. Extra theft mitigation if it matters ..............

yeah, its a great feature until you forget about it and accidentally turn it off. I say go with a mechanical for your application. They're just as reliable.
biggest drawback to a mechanical is that the diaphram ( can ) bust and flood the engine with fuel. Usually however, the fuel will spill out the weephole at the bottom of the pump.
Can be avoided by replacing the pump BEFORE it fails.
Another nice thing about mechanical pumps, is that they pump more fuel at higher RPM, just like you need it.
Thanks,
Mechanical it will be.
