I have a fiberglass 23 bucket T.I need some more leg room. Would changing from bucket seats to a bench seat,a new steering column,it has a late model Chevy tilt in it , or a spoon gas pedal ,it has a regular accelerator pedal . achieve this ,or? Thanks.

The only way I am aware off adding room is to lengthen the body.Don Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).

How thick are the seat back cushions?
You really don't need much padding here, but you do need a lumbar support and an angled seat back.
A 2" thick upholstered firm foam pad will do it.
Upholstery shops carry foams in different thicknesses and densities.
Making your own seat & back bases from plywood is easily done.
And upholstery shops will have no problems padding and upholstering the plywood backs.C9
