ok this is more on how to get it off. i had the puller tool on it and everything was tight but how do you actually pull it off? everytime i yanked on my breaker bar the motor turned over. i got an electric impact but it wont fit in between the radiator and the tool.
any suggestions?

oh yeah its a 4.3 in a 92 1500
not sure of the direction of rotation for your motor, but on my 80 toyota motor i was told and it did work to put a breaker bar and disconnect the ignition and crank the motor over with the bar against the frame. EdQuote:

muteboy49, you didnt make it clear if you had got the bolt out of the crank or not. if you have to you can get the HB bolt out, the way Ed ke6bnl said do it, but be carful and dont hurt yourself doing it. you said you had the puller bolted on so i assume you got the bolt out. in that case you should be able to use a bar or something to hold the puller while you pull the HB off. sounds like the bolt holding the HB on in still there.
You also might be able to pull inspection cover down from flexplate/flywheel area and lock-up flexplate/flywheel with a big screwdriver to keep engine from turning.

theres nothing on the HB right now. no bolts or nothin. would Ed ke6bnl's idea work for me on my motor?
he is telling you how to get the bolt out of the crankshaft that holds the HB on. you say there is no bolt. should be one get down where you can look up in the HB and see if it ant a bolt there.Quote:

there cant be a bolt in there because i have to thread an adapter for the tool in the crank to use the tool.
you have lost me. that tool is used to put the HB on not pull it off. sounds lik to me you are using the wromg tool tell me what you have doon so far.Quote:

the tool is a puller/remover. i had to thread in an adapter in the crank and then bolt this like plate thing to the holes in the HB then thread in this shaft on the adapter and turn the shaft to pull the HB off.
i gurss the adpt. in the shaft is to protect the threads in the shaft. thats cool, so you have the puller bolted to the HB and its turns the motor instead of pulling the HB off. then you have to find a way to hold the motor from turning. the best way but it takes a little work is to pull the starter and hold the flexplate with some type of bar. most of the time you can hold it at the puller with a bar.Quote:

ok i know id have fixed it already but my dad keeps tellin me to buy a new 4.3 for it rather than fix the leak.
