Hi,
New here :) I am currently building a 23 T Bucket. It is about halfway done. I am putting a 2005 Corvette L6 with a 6 Speed standad Transmission in it. What I need to know is what kind of rearend will I need to put into this car to handle the power that it will have?

either a 8" or 9" ford will do fine, I'm running a 8" with a eaton pro carrier, it handles my 500hp 23 t.
hey viking would a spool work pretty good in a bucket due to the light weight or should one go to a limited.
i have a open driveline right now and its pretty hard not to break loose a tire just pulling away from a stop sign.
i had a solid rearend (homade) in a ihc scout when i was young and it worked really well as the rear was so light , tire waer never seemed to be a problem in it.
:eek: Noooooo, at least not with a tire type / setup like mine, I tried a spool and I could NOT turn it, with the front wheels turned and the rear end locked (spool) it would just plow straight ahead, bent / trashed one front rim trying to get it to turn.Quote:

i agree viking your set up would be tough to turn with a spool .
i may still try one on mine as my front end is quite a bit heavier non traditional.

Hey Wolf, I went from 3.08 peg leg to a 3.54 posi, I'm happy with it now but it really depends what you want to do, criuse, race, 1/4, 1/8 ?
