i was wondering what i would need to do to preform this transfer. is one of those angle heads from a buick or something. but its got everything and only cost me $250. he says its worth 1000 or so but his has been sitting for 7 years. and needs a rebuild

If you are talking big block Buick, it wont bolt to your Chevy tranny.............amongst other problems...Try and hunt down a big block Chevy................but it wont be $250.
its all gm isnt it. well if that dont work ill just rebuild it and sell it for fun.

Better than some, though. Parts off a red Ford won't fit a blue one!
i checked it out today. my buddy has a buick equifire 6 cyl. and a CHEVY th350. all bolted up in a 88 izusu pickup. he has no problems. i have the same th350 in my camaro and when we put the engine on the engine stand we didnt have to adjust the mounts. they havent been touched since we took his motor off 3 weeks ago. as far as i can tell it should bolt together perfectly. the only thing i would have to jury rig is the engine mounts. but that was expected. coments anyone?
look where the bell housing fits up against the motor block, at the top between the top two bolts, chevy goes up and buick dips down I think. however don't take my word for it, you look. its been a few years since I messed with a buick.
The newer TH350's have both bolt patterns, I don't know what year they changed.
Later part of the '70's, did it so some Olds could use Chevy engines and still have a standardized transmission.Quote:
