just bought a 250 76 nova...help!
hi everyone, im new to the forums and also to customizing and restoring/hot rodding. well, i just got this bad boy and it is currently in the shop getting an overhaul.I would like some help on what parts or engine (v8) i should get for better performance and sound (loud..i would love to have that loud deep rumbling!) from the engine.I am currently going to college and live by myself so cost is a BIG issue to me,so can you guys please tell me parts that are cheap and that i can find at autozone. thanks a lot, i'll try and post some pictures on saturday.

You're not going to get anything cheap at VatoZone. www.summitracing.com, www.jegs.com, and www.pawinc.com typically have the best prices. Be warned, some parts are cheap for a reason.

A straight 6 will go fast. You just gotta play with it a little more.

Nothing sounds as good as a healthy 6 with headers and dual pipes.

Best thing to do is look as Summit and Jegs, see what is available, and how much it costs. Then you can see what your pocket book can handle. Your going to find that most performance parts sites and books will give a pretty good description of thier parts, so it should be an easy decission for you.Originally posted by furius styles

Try Summit, thier site is easier to navigate IMO. For most things they charge no shipping, just a handling fee which I believe at the present is around $8 per order.Ken Thomas

If I remember right, Clifford research was THE place to go for big hp Sixes. Manifolds, intakes, carb setups.... I do not know if they are still going strong, but that might be the place I would go.
