It's me again. I was working on a 97 mustang today fixing the air conditioning and while it was sitting there running I smelled rotton eggs and noticed the coolant bottle was empty at about the same time. It only had 65,000 miles on it. With further checking I found both head gaskets blown. Guess what engine was in it. Yes a 3.8. It wasn't a lot car either, It was a freinds that bought it new.
Oh well. One thing I should have mentioned is to use felpro gaskets and new bolts with sealer on the threads and a can of copper high tach spray on the new gaskets if you ever do run into this problem. It will last the longest in my experience anyway.
I asked at the junk yard today at this freinds request about a replacement engine from a supercoupe. It was gonna be 400 bucks with the computer and harness. They said there was no demand for them so maybe you will luck out and find a good one cheap too if you want to go that route. Superchargers rule no matter what engine they are on. I guess I am gonna have another one to build in the shop this week. OH BOY! Lots of luck to you on building yours.
