I've had two 305s and in my humble opinion, I would drive the truck with the 305, make no changes and save up my money. When the time comes, remove the 305 and take it to the nearest pier and drop it off the end in the deep water. They make great structure for bait fish. Then, start with a good 350 or even 400 and build from there. You won't impress anyone when you pop your hood to show off your 305, even if it runs on thermonuclear power. Sorry, been there and won't go back.
