strange noise
1970 351 w w/ auto tranny, when engine has been running for a while, there is a strange thumping. it can actually be felt through the brake peddle at a stop with car in gear. take it out of gear and it seems to stop. any ideas?

On a '76 Ford van with 351W/C6 the bolts holding the torque converter to the flex plate came loose and caused some really strange thumping noises, but I don't remember feeling it in the brake pedal. Easy to check, just pull the inspection plate.

That kind of thump could be from a broken tranny mount,,or motor mount as well."I don't know everything and i like it that way"
Everything got swapped over, had to build a bracket for the fuel pressure regulator, modify the throttle cable bracket, rebuild some fuel lines, pull the screen wiring and mount the new one. So far...
