i've done many thru the years.first support the weight of the door this will take the bind off the pin,a neutral position.second remove door hold open spring, another souce of bind.then i like to use an air chisel to CAREFULLY catch the side of the pin and push out,or if room allows cut the pin in half with a worn down cut-off wheel and remove 1 half at a time.the top of the pin may or may not be serreted,an if it has a spring type clip on it this will need to be removed FIRST.gm recommends 30 weight oil on reassy.but then again they always wear out. good luck.ps been at it for 31 years and hav only used heat on 30's type pins not on the late model stuff.
