FMX--I don't want to insult your build, but listen up----why do you want to use leather? Damn near every one except the top builders and high dollar auto manufacturers use Vinyl. I use it in all my cars, its waterproof, it wears well, its far less expensive than leather. I use marine grade vinyl, (a lot of people in the industry call it "Naugahyde")---which was one of the popular vinyl upholstery manufacturers in the 60's. It comes in every colour under the sun, is treated for ultra-violet resistance (won't fade in the sun), and pretty well any upholstery shop will work with it comfortably. It looks and feels like leather. Come on man, your building a daily driver pick-up truck---your not going to the Oakland roadster show.---check some of my upholstery posts that I done while building the roadster pick-up. You can build the door and kick panels from 1/8" mahogany door skins, which are available from the local building supply store-----I don't think your truck has a lot of compound curve surfaces to build panels for.Last edited by brianrupnow; 07-31-2005 at 05:26 AM.
