what gears?
With my new cam my engine pulls hard around 4500rpm and up. With the high gears I now have, 2:76, by the 1/4 mile its just starting to unwind. I need to go with some lower gears either 3:55 or 3:73. Since I do alot of riding in the summer and will be doing some 1/8 and 1/4 mile racing, which would be a better all around gear?Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I'd say the 3.73 gear as it's only slightly higher than 3.55 and not much of a diffrence on the highway, but probably make a diffrence on the strip. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Sure would, but my mileage on the road would really suck, maybe 5,000rpm's at 50 mph.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I'll agree with Matt, the 3.73's are a decent compromise.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

I believe just from personal preference that the 3.73's are great for a street/strip car unless you have a late model 6-spd where my fellow whipper-snappers have gone overboard with 4.00+ gears when first last to about 5mph, thats about the time I see them in the rear view!
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
