    what gears?

With my new cam my engine pulls hard around 4500rpm and up. With the high gears I now have, 2:76, by the 1/4 mile its just starting to unwind. I need to go with some lower gears either 3:55 or 3:73. Since I do alot of riding in the summer and will be doing some 1/8 and 1/4 mile racing, which would be a better all around gear?

I'd say the 3.73 gear as it's only slightly higher than 3.55 and not much of a diffrence on the highway, but probably make a diffrence on the strip.

Sure would, but my mileage on the road would really suck, maybe 5,000rpm's at 50 mph.

I'll agree with Matt, the 3.73's are a decent compromise.

I believe just from personal preference that the 3.73's are great for a street/strip car unless you have a late model 6-spd where my fellow whipper-snappers have gone overboard with 4.00+ gears when first last to about 5mph, thats about the time I see them in the rear view!
