Hey 53 what are you putting the 348 in? Dont hear of many people using them anymore. I have one im going to be dropping in my 59 Impala :D. And I know what you mean about them things being heavy lol, when I pulled the original 348 and the cast iron pig of a powerglide it actully bent my dads Engine hoist!! And it took 3 of us to roll the engine and tranny away from the car lol. Is the 348 your using stock? Good luck with it!

I'm sticking the 348 in a 53 chevy pickup. your right, you dont see them much anymore so i decided to use the 348 with modern tech vs a ls1 that i could have used. time will tell if i made a mistake in judgement :HMMM: . i rebuilt it stock because i need this thing to be reliable on long trips and the the pickup wont need that much power to scoot it along anyway
thats a funny story about the chain hoist, a 348 and a cast PG, is thier any heavier combo  . i thought for sure i was going to post a pic of my engine stand buckled over when i had the 348 on it.
if my link works here is a great place for Impala and 348-409 partshttp://show-cars.com/index.html
