What motors did the f150's come with in 97? Parts aren't a problem at all because I work for a transmission shop in OK. Things down here are cheap to begin with but then when you get the parts at cost + shipping, the bill isn't so bad.

I have 2 options:
A) Keep my 87 silverado, build a motor for it, and bring it back to life.
B) Buy this truck from my sister, swap the motor/trans and make it haul ass.

I REALLY would like to try the 292 inline 6 in my silverado but i need to get with some of our wholesale companies to see about a rebuild kit for that motor. The only one i could find was at cliffordperformance.com and they want about 800 bucks for it and thats too much considering that I can get a master rebuild kit, where i can choose my lifters/cam, pistons, for $159.

That inline six is supposed to be one helluva motor.

Any suggestions on what i should do? Even if i sell my truck and buy this f150 it wont be for another 6 months probably that i can get it.
