1975 Eldorado Carpet (Converted RWD)
I'm in the process of a MAJOR overhaul of my 1976 Eldorado Convertible. One of the aspects of this job was to convert it from FWD to RWD using a Ford F150 rearend. I cut a transmission tunnel out of a 1992 Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon to provide clearance for the new TH400 tranny and the driveshaft. My dilemma is ordering a carpet that will fit the new tunnel and the rest of the original Eldorado floor pan, which was completely flat bacause of the FWD. I know that the 1975 Deville was a RWD, but I'm not sure if using that or a molded carpet for the Roadmaster would be a better choice.

You could go to a local carpet store, many carry automotive carpet and you could cut it in your self, I have been a carpet installer for many yrs and have done this on many of my cars. It just takes time and patience good luck. TIf Its too loud your too old!!!

Any decent upholstery shop should be able to cut and sew carpet to fit it,I have done it many times and it almost looks like moulded carpet. I dont think you will find any carpet that will fit and look decent. Jeff
I believe this was somewhere around 2015, Rick, Rosie and Johnboy
