Nova is leaking. Help?
I just bought myself a 1975 Chevy Nova. I looked it over and I had a friend who's a mechanic look it over. Everything was in good order. Today, I came back to it parked and it was leaking antifreeze everywhere. I put some water in and drove it home to get a better look. I can't find any reason that it was suddenly in a pool of fluid. Any ideas?

Re Leaking
Start with your cap. Mine was a 13Lb cap I put a new one on 13LB also and it worked fine . You can run the car and if you have an accurate temp gauge see if the hose right after the thermostat gets hotter right after 160 to 180 degrees to verify your thermostat is opening. What is your cruising temp. DH

Can you tell where it's leaking from, you didn't really say?

If you drove it for awhile and the engine heated up to operating temperature(whatever your thermostat is set for) sometimes after you park it the water in your radiator will expand and push out your overflow,or maybe a bad radiator hose, etc. Where did you find the antifreeze, on top of you intake, garage floor?Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Okay. I think I figured it out.
I believe it's just overflow. I drove it for about an hour on the freeway and there's no leak now. When I tried to remove the cap, the antifreeze kind of bubbled over.
Well to be as brief as I can the first shoot of color looked good but when I started spraying the clear I discovered all these paint flakes on the hood and back of cab. The 3m plastic sheeting I was...
