My Gibbon '34 coupe was DESIGNED (supposedly) for a SBC and a 700/R4. Minor problems:

- Trans tunnel hit the trans case.
- Driveshaft tunnel wouldn't clear the U-joint
- Body wouldn't go back on the chass is because the channels (it's a channeled coupe) warped in when the body came off.

They "fixed" that - except I had to spend several hundred $$$ taking the car to Darlington, then returning to pick it up.

After the fix:

- Glass work raised body at the firewall 1/4", hosing up all of the hood and grille fit. I chopped it out and fixed it myself.
- Floor won't clear 4th gear servo. I had to build a small bubble in the floor.

Now:
- Floor won't clear the speedo sender. More chopping - or lower the rear of the trans a bit.

I don't mind fabricating, but I HATE re-fabricating stuff that was designed and built for the purpose and didn't work. That ain't hot rodding . . . it's customer-delegated quality control
