70 monte carlo headlight ext trouble

hello,,i own a 70 monte carlo with a damaged drivers side head light ext,,ive been told that only 70 model replacements will work. is this true?or will 71-72 fit?,,thanks

Find either a wrecking yard or a library with a Hollander Interchange Manual, it will tell you what years are interchangeable.
