Weather Strip Adhesive
I am re-doing the weather strip around the vent windows of my Studebaker. I got new fitted weather strip from Studebaker international and it is first rate. But since my top is chopped I need to adjust it to get it to fit. I plan to "section" the weather strip so that the curves at the bottom and nub for the top hinge post are in the right place. I will do some careful measuring before I make the straightest cut possible to remove the ncessary section of trim, then I need to bond it back together.
What would you recommend to glue it together and also seal it to the window frame? Could be two different products I suppose. Thanks for your ideas.

3M weather strip adhesive is the best
it comes in yellow and black, dont use yellow, it strings
like snot

Another reason to use black is because if it shows, it is not noticable....but the yellow is very noticable!

Been there, done that, Pat. I would use the black 3M weatherstrip adhesive where it seals to the metal, then some contact glue (tinted black with just a touch of paint) where the rubber seals come together. Leave the seals about 1/16" long to allow for shrinkage.

ive used black w/s urethane for some stuff and it sticks and is tough as heck
i dont thinsk it wouild attatch 2 seals together though. tough to do
