radiator
I'm building a model T rod and I am going to use a model A radiator shell. The engine is a Chrysler 400. My question is, can I use an original model A radiator, or do I have to go to some aftermarket specialized radiator? Of course, as usual, money is not abundant so I don't think that I could put a $500 rad in so any low budget insight that is effective would be great.
Thanks

I picked up an aluminum "T" radiator thru Speedway motors awhile back for around $350. You could probably use the original "A" radiator after you sent it to the radiator shop and had the whole thing rebuilt and the water outlets changed to the correct position. Even then, cooling would not be the best. The good radiators are expensive. Usually things that work good and perform as advertised do!!! JMO, but the cooling system is one of the places you don't want to cut corners.

you can fit a 65 mustang V8 rad into the model a shell. That's what I am planning for my 29 Tudor. I built a J- frame to mount rad into and shell goes over that.
Rad and cap cost me $250 CDN . US$ should be less. Pic attached
