Lots of opinions on both, do a search in the archives for Wyotech and read all about it.

Both are out for money IMO. Anyways. UTI has a thing where they give you a test before starting. Now if you know your stuff and do good on the test then you get to skip classes they have and all and go straight into the harder classes. So that means they take money off because you don't have to go through all those other classes.
See what I mean? Wyotech doesn't do this.

Don't overlook your local community colleges and don't let UTI or Wyotakeyourmoney talk you into they are cheaper than community colleges and that you can finish in a year at UTI or nothing.
I don't like Wyotech because the guy there tried to say that if I go to this community college and think it's better than their school then I am stupid because they are cheaper. Well I told him how I can go to my community college for 5000 bucks and he yelled at me and said I am lying so I added it all up and showed him and said how I can stay at home and have free housing and food and he said whatever.
Just think about it. I thought I was going to go there at one point too and if you do a search you will see my post on it but glad I waited.
I am not saying it's bad or nothing, just saying to take your time and look around more.

I wouldnt Knock any of the schools if you havent been to them.
I have had WyoTech Human Recources emailing me for 2 years to come teach there, but I wont even consider it because of the location. ( hate the cold )

I had a very good helper come out of WyoTech, yes he was green behind the ears, but at least he had all the right concepts of it all, and knew how things were done.
After working with me for 2 years he is now head painter at a good shop and making good money !!
All he needed was tought how to use his time wisely , and learn how to multitask 3-6 jobs at a time , And work on his speed.

Look at all the schools and see what they have to offer, and dont let them buffalo you into thinking you will make BIG BUCKS when you graduate. that comes in time when you know the ropes.

There is also talk of hitting the shops where you live and see if you can learn from hands on experience, thats all fine , but in a shop that is production its all about money and most guys dont have the time to teach you. Learn the basics and it will be easier to get into a shop.
I love to teach but when I am at work I am there to make the shop and me money.
