my aunt has a mid 40s ihc pickup that is in pretty good cond considering the year last driven in 1972
has anybody ever done a street rod version of one of these ie is there any frame out there that would fit under it as appears it has a pinched front end.
the price is good take it off the farm .
my boy is just 13 and i thoughtit would make a neat ride for him with a 4.3 or in line 6 in it and a 5 spd standard.
Wow, neat project. You'll have 3 years to build it until he's 16. I did much the same thing with my youngest son. Bought a '72 Chevy Luv roller when he was 14. When he was 16, it had a 10 1/4" Olds 3.90 rear, TH400 and stock 455 Olds in it. We also put a full cage and window net in it with 5-point, 3" belts.
I'd start looking at the Chevy S10 frame and do some measuring. Even if you have to shorten or lengthen the frame, you'll have all later model running gear and steering in the old International and a 350 is pretty near a bolt-in, so of course a 4.3 V6 with a 5-spd would work really well.

no froth yet he likes old cars and i dont think he would turn down my 66 if i let him use it but i think that a old cornbinder pickup would be pretty cool too . we saw a late 50s buick 2 dr a while ago and he fell in love with it.
when i was a kid my dad bought me my 1st car a 74 nova 6 cyl for 1000.00 . very basic tough as nails still miss that car.
I have a 1947 international on an s-10 chassis. the rear end is a bit narrow I had to tub it. the front end is a bit narrow but reversed rims solved that problem. you will also probabley need to cut some of the frame off at the rear depending on the length of the bed. mounting the cab was quite easy just drilling through the floor and frame. thanks for the advice gusyi thinks i will be visiting my aunt with a trailer to pick up a truck. get it to the farm and off the original frma e sometime and then can go from there
