It's been a looong time since I've worked on a 12 bolt so somebody with a better memory can correct me. There is a crush sleeve behind the seal. You might have to replace the crush sleeve at the same time you replace the seal. The crush sleeve preloads the pinion brearings when you torque the pinion nut. And I think you can do the seal change in the car.Originally posted by Kevyd
