Has anyone used the stuff to get scratches and pits out of windows from Eastwood? I have a couple scratches in my windows that are bugging me that I wan't out and some really tiny pits on the windsheild and rear glass on the drivers side and not sure where or how they got there.
Any tips on this would be great, I don't want to have to get new windows or nothing and I plan to tint the windows soon so don't want scratches on there since they will get noticed more with the tint.

I tried the scratch remover from Griot's Garage........they are on net........and worked well ....just put it on and buffed it out.....took out small scratches........I don't know anything that will takes out pits that are in the glass.:3dSMILE: Griots is actually about 20 miles from my houise so can go there and get their products.....they have lots of detail goodies and waxes.:D
Thanks man, I never heard of the place though but will look into that as well. I will see if anyone else has anymore oppinions on this too just in case. I don't want to just jump into a product and buy it right away when I am on a low budget.
I have heard very good things about the Eastwood products.
There are several glass polish products that work very well but they will not remove a noticeable scratch or chip as glass is way too hard. You might ask the advice of the the glass tint company you plan to use and show them what you are working on.

if your finger nail will hang in the scratch it isn't going anywhere no matter what you do to it!
I had some scratches in my windshield in my 46 coupe. They were pretty fine, caused by a scotch pad on the back of a sponge. Don't ask. Anyway, I purchased the Eastwood product. I was unsuccesfull in my attempt to remove the scratches, although I will admit that since the windhield in a 46 Ford is two flat pieces of glass, I decided replacement would be easier. If I were not so lazy, or had the windshield been more expensive, maybe more effort would have had better results. Joe

Ok well looks like new windows would be needed and that won't happen anytime soon. Sucks now because no tinted windows either for me now. Thanks anyways guys!
a body shop guy me had a window with barbed wire scratches in it and he acually took a D/A sander and sanded down the scratches and then buffed it out. i wouldnt have belived it if i hadnt seen it myself.
That is crazy. I don't think I will take the chances on that one though. Sounds like it would work with really fine paper and then buff the small scratches out but still will just wait until I actually NEED new windows and then get them made and tinted and then put in but that won't be for a year probably.
If and when you have new windows made just have them made from tinted glass........ It won't be that much more and it will not scratch like reg tint ;)
