Looking great......lets see a picture of the rear suspension.
Don
Looks nice... I am courious where you are planning to mount your air compressor?...
Dave Brisco
Don,
The rear end is 9" ford, 31" splined axles, 11" GM disc brakes,3:00 gear with Auburn posi.
The Triangualeted 4 link is an Air Ride Technologies unit & using their ShockWaves also. ( this pic good enough ? ) if not i can take a few more & post .
Dave, I am planning on putting my 3 gallon tank in the trunk & painting it the color of the car, as I cant find a place on the frame to put it anywhere..LOL
Looks real good. How about a test report on the air bags when you get it on the road. We see lots of pictures but, little feedback. I would encourage every one to give us feedback.
Thanks Don
Don,
I definately will keep you all posted on the air ride as I am real anxious to find out myself, I am 3 months behind from where I wanted to be on my project, but some things took longer then expeceted. It seem like its 4 steps foward & 2 back.....LOL
SprayTech
Lookin' good Spray. Only 3 months behind? I'd trade you in a heartbeat!!
I do kinda miss the 4x4 drive shaft though!:p
LOL BoB,
I dont think I will ever live that one down....:-)
With all the new members thats almost an inside joke if they havent looked at my photos .
SprayTech
Hummm... I think the old drive shaft must have came from a Woodie!!!
Dave Brisco
Well I thought I would find this old post, and add to it.
I'm now alot more then 3 months behind
but I hope to have it drivable by late September, well thats the plan anyway.LOL
I got my smootie running boards a couple of weeks ago & am trial fitting
everything, plus I have rust to re-pair on the bottoms of the rear fender where they bolt to the rear of boards. .
Heres a pic with the air bags down.
3" off the ground :-)
Oh the colors are HOK Kandy purple over HOK Black Pearl w/ A special mix HOK Platnium Pearl w/ Black Pearl added to give it a charcoal effect.
Spray
I like the color Spray Tech. I am all about purple! But that flavor is awsome.
except for the wrong flavor motor :)
Have you fitted and squared-up the front clip? I wish I had a nickel for ever hour I have spent trying to get the fenders, grille, hood, and side panels to line up nice. I bought one of those import repo. grillles, and i have regretted it since. It was so flimsy and thin, it's rediculous. After I got everything square, I discovered that the left headlight opening extends about 3/8" further forward than the right one. It's not noticible, but it drove me nuts trying to shore everything else up.
I had to extend my hood about 1/2" too.
Hey Streets that might be a way to go , as it would be a hell of alot faster slinging some bondo & priming it and not worry about making it straight....LOL But I'm all about the SHINY BLING, BLING PAINT !
Andy, No I havent really gotten to even bolting everything up tight yet as I have some rust to repair on fenders where they bolt to running boards so it would be a waste of time to even try.
I know what you mean about the Grille as it is a hunk of junk as my left side half is about 3/8's of an in inside of top rail, and the right side is fairly straight with top rail.
I would love to buy one of Don's Hotrod Grilles but 4 years ago they were 1200.00 bucks & way to steep in my oppinion!
Hate to even think what he wants for one now .
This car had no hood, grille, or hood sides so I bought a glass hood & hood sides & Mac's grille, and think i will be sorry also.
Spray
When I got my car, it didn't have a hood. I looked for a year before I found one (that wasn't totally outrageous). Ironically, they both came from Wisconsin.
Yea $1200 is way too much for my taste, but I wish I had went ahead and payed about $500 for a nice chrome original.
I have a really nice extra left front fender, but it looks like you already have one.
Hey Darrell, that '37 is sure looking GOOD!! 3-4 months "behind" schedule? looks like your well on your way! when do you want me to drive out there for you to do the bling bling paint job on my '37? LOL! I also had major problems with the crap grille I bought from Obsolete Ford a couple yrs ago..wouldnt line up at all..well you know the story,hehe....Im just going to use the stock grille and pay to have it replated. your '37 will be amazing when your finished..lets see more pics:3dSMILE: maybe make a goal for next years Louisville Nats? we need to meet up some where.
take care Darrell
