I am doing an upgrade on a 1940 ford frame. I have purchased a
mustang ll crossmember kit from "ROD PART WAREHOUSE". The issue I have is that everythig has matched or met the instruction sheet, except when I place the crossmember at the axel center mark on the frame. At that point I have about 3/16" space on either side, between the frame rail and the cross member. Is it normal to have to add filler in addition to the boxing plates, or is this perhaps a crossmember for a different year frame ( 33,34)???
