cruise o matic swap for toploader????
I have a 352 galaxie and the cruise o matic needs to go. I am looking at a toploader from David Kee to put in there. WHat else will I have to replace to make it work and if anyone knows anyone else who makes a 4 speed for this car that would help

You will also need a clutch, flywheel, bellhousing, and the clutch pedal and linkage. You might have to relocate the trans mount, and change the driveshaft, too.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

There's probable a 3:00 or 3:25 gear in the diff, a 3:50 or 3:70 may preferable.

The toploader shoud be the same physical size, so the driveshaft and tranny crossmember should work okay.

Dont forget to put new engine and transmission mounts in,,,automatics usualy dont give the same snap that a standard tranny will, your origional mounts wont stand up,,,,even the crown and pinion should be overhauled."I don't know everything and i like it that way"

if you need it and if it will bolt up to your 4 speed i have a bell housing, clutch fork, clutch, maybe even the pressure plate and the little ball mount thing for the manual set up. this all came out of a 63 galaxie 500 soft top with a 352 and a three speed. i think the bell housing will bolt up but i am not entirely certain. i might even have the tranny cross member. i recently swapped the 352/3 speed in my old mans galaxie with a 429 Cobra Jet and C-6
I also replaced the 3:50 gears with 3:89's with traction lock. that gear works great in his car because hes still runnin those tall tires.
