    Does anyone know how to decode ford 9" tag --wdm--ak--4jd--3.50--9--326a I just need to know is it a 31 spline carrier. Or should I just try the dealer? thanks

    i dont think the tag tells you that, i think all those # do is tell when and where it was made and the ratio. if you have the dif. out just count the splines.

    I am looking for a 350 9 " with 31 spline and was hoping I wouldnt haf ta start pulling axles. But it seems I know what I gotta do. I tried several links but no luck, or Im too dumb. thanks guys for your input.

    Hey DennyW, I had a 79 Versilles 28 spline RR narrowed and the original axles resplined. Although, the Diff was narrowed to 45 1/8" axle flange to axle flange.
