Can anyone read this diff tag for ford 8 inch, to tell me what it came out of, so i will know what to buy for drums, shoes and hardware, as i am missing these parts.

the best i can tell the tag dont tell you what kind of car the dif. came out of. there might be a serial # on the housing that the ford place could tell you something or call them on this tag. :whacked:Quote:

Maybe the length (width) of the rear will give you a clue. I note that I do not see the rear that I have on this list (a 1974 Maverick) so the list is not complete. Obviously the ratio is a 2.79:1 rear which apparently was common in the early 1970s when the gas crunch occurred, but I can't answer further.
