    Winter project progress

I've made some good progress on my winter project and needed to share it!. My project was to rearrange the accessories on the front of my motor so the A/C compressor was not the first thing you see when my hood is opened. Also need to paint the motor as it was GM corporate blue and did not fit in well the rest of the car's colors. Once the front of the motor was opened up, it was apparent that the manifold had to be cleaned up. I got some Metal Cleaner from Metalwax.com and it came out looking pretty darn good. I had not originally planned on pulling the intake maniold, but finally decided I could do a much better job on it it I did. I am also replacing all visble motor bolts with stainless steel bolts that I polished myself. I got mounts from Bill's Hot Rods that put the devices where I wanted them I opted for black powder coat finish as I had decided to paint the motor black based on discussions here on the forum. The car has no billet on it so I opted for steel. I am still waiting for some parts, but have gotten all done that I can until I have them. Pictures are worth a thousand words so check out my progress at:

Still to come are new valve covers, a water pump pulley and bracket and some cleaner for my exhaust manifolds. My goal is to have it ready for the Sacramento Autorama Feb 4-6. I should make it wothout any problem if my parts arrive this week as expected.

    Thanks for checking it out.

Looks like you're making good progress there Patrick.................the black is a nice improvement.

Looking good, Pat. The black on the motor looks a whole lot better, as do the new brackets.

Thanks everyone! Atta boys always inspire me!

Tree, I'd be happy to do your wife's Tundra, but not sure you could afford my hourly rate. Plus I work pretty slow! I only got two speeds....

That's looking really nice, Pat. I'd say that's a job well done.
