OK, I have a 3/8" steel gas line and need to attach the rubber hose to the tank and fuel pump. How in the world do I get the ends flared or that nice bump like some fuel pumps have? OR do I have to use some type of brass fittings? I can get the line to flare once but CANNOT get it to roll over!! Thanks for your help!
you need a double flare tool, most of them are these days. brass fittings looks good to. :cool:Quote:

Denny, Yes this is what I want. My line is 3/" steel with a galvanized look on the outside. I have a double flare and have done some brake/clutch line and it works fine. The 3/8 just want to push the tube back through the clamp!! Are there different kinds of steel tubing? I've lubed the second flair piece......guess I'll have to keep trying..Thanks!
I have a tool that is available at refrigeration supply stores. It makes the flare about 3/8" up from the end. Makes a nice pro job..
All mike needs is a coat hanger and a pair pliers. I gotta get his heart pumping this morning. this'll work!
i wouldnt even use a clamp,if its on the sucking side of the the pump it cant blow off . :whacked: :LOL:
ps that is if the hose went on tight, if not then id use a piece of wire. :cool:
