Just happened to hit on something I know. I run a blue grommet box on just about everything. I can convert to it quicker than I can change points. Never can find that feeler guage anymore. Always thought you coud replace it with a GM 4 pin module though, performance GM modules are a lot cheaper than the other options for mor power such as MSD.
If you drop the white retard wire and the black ground (GM module bodies are grounded) that just leaves four connections. GM's use the Hall effect sensor in there setup too. For that matter I bet it would work the same on Dodge or most anything else. Every factory distribitor I every looked at had either points or a Hall Effect sensor. But alas (and I know this could upset a few people) price is why so many hot rods are Chevy powered when there are so many other great combos out there.
