Whats the best donor car roof to patch a 33 plymouth coupe roof? My brother is going to attempt this in the spring.

'33 Plymouth, did it have a solid roof or a vinyl roof, so there is absolutly no roof? I'd use a mid 60's van roof to fill it in or patch.

It has the original canvas roof insert.

use a 60's van roof as there smooth and there slightly rounded, even into the early '70's, vans had smooth rounded roofs, look into dodge vans. vans from the 1980's and such have ribs and are much flatter.

Mustang owners will hate me, but the roof from a 65 or 66 mustang, rotated 180 degrees will work fine for this application.

Not that I'm a ford fan, But an old mustang would probably cost a little and hard to find. A guy told us a 83 -86 chevy citation would work. i'll post ome pics of the project, when we get it started.

I HAVE A 33 PLYMOUTH AND I JUST USED A FLAT PIECE OF STEEL. JUST PUT RIB'S ON THE INSIDE SO IT DON'T FALL IN IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO DO.JUST GET RID OF ALL THE LEAD AND MAKE SHURE YOU WELD IT ALL THE WAY AROUND.TWOSPEED

Thanks for your reply. It will be awhile before I weld anything. My mig welder doesn't feed wire for some reason. I pulled the motor of checking it out. Do you have any pics of your car

you can use a roof panel off a 57 58 59 ford wagon, works fine, it has ribs bur it also has a rounded rib that goes across from one side to the other, reverse it and put it in the rear of the car
