Humm sounds about as bad as the too narrow a tire story. I think that a 9 inch wide tire would fit the bill about right, but hey I guess ya could try the 10. I noticed you have an 88 pickup thus being why I would say to use Lt tires. I don't see why the sizes of a radial t/a for that old school look would be any different than the sizes for the all terrains or mud terrains either. You should be able to accomodate a big tire in your fenderwells so go as big as you can I guess. Also, some tires are just constructed differently and would 'look' more balloonish than others. A truck tire may look more balloonish, a taller tire may look that way too. Sports tires are wider at the tread and less at the sidewall giving a larger contact patch, whilst a truck tire is quite wide at the sidewall and less so at the tread. And since tires are measured at the widest point you might be better off with a truck tire for that look that you so desire. Anyhow, using some info here, go out and get the biggest, meanest, tallest monster tires you can and stick em on those rims.I'd rather go fast than worry about the gas mileage.
