Does anyone know whether exhaust manifolds need to be torqued?
Also, one of the screws is an extremely obscure type of 5/8 screw. I have found one of the same size, but not exactly the same thread. Does the threat need to match exactly?

The damn part is a bit more elusive. Most likely it's that tinkers were a grumpy lot (thus Streets familiarity with the term :p ) and swore often, thus rendering their curse far too common to be worth paying attention to. ;) I've heard another version of the use spelled dam, but it's not as much fun.
