The battery,starter and used to be the selenoid are new. The wiring diagram is helpful,It is wired right noe with the starter and battery separated on two different posts. i will replace the selenoid and check the diagram to see if it is correct. Alternator should still carry the engine. That question is still on the table.

the alt. should carry the motor after you get it running and the starter disengsged. if your starter is staying engaged and wont stop turning, then stop worrying about the alt. how you gonna keep the motor running to check the alt. if youer running the motor with the starter engaged then you are gonna mess up the starter and flywheel. until you get the motor starting and running on its own forget about the alt. take it off the motor and put it on the floor and fix your starter, than put the alt back on the motor and check it. forget the alt, all its doing now is confusing you more.
