Your right , but good equipment does help though . but if a person is only going to use the paint gun once , by all means get the best you can afford or borrow or demo a high dollar gun from a jobber...

The problem with cheapy guns are they are not manufactured with quality in mind , so therefore , poorly made needle , fluid nozzle and aircap can make for a BIG problem , you might purchase a good...

Yes HVLP = High Volume Low Pressure : Means it requires large amounts of Air Volume (CFM's)at inlet , and the gun head design inside makes the paint & air mixture spray at low pressure .

The difference in Siphon & top loader is that the top loader is a bit easier to handle ( meaning :Better balance and control ) There are HVLP's in both models , and conventional in both type guns ....

I was not trying to Cut these guns , I have never used those guns mentioned , and could not give sound advice on the question.
You mentioned Air consumption , and the Walcom's Slim line...

Those are kind of the bottom end of paint guns , and I couldnt recommend a good choice out of those 3 .
But if you want a damn fine gun with low air consumption ( may be a little more costly ) but...
