    And just to be clear, is the torque convertor...

    And just to be clear, is the torque convertor preventing the transmission from going forward enough to bolt to the block? Or is there a 3/4" gap between the torque convertor and flywheel when bolted...

    Are you sure you spun the converter until it...

    Are you sure you spun the converter until it engaged both sprockets (two clicks and movements towards the tranny)? I would spin it again while pushing slightly towards the tranny just to be sure.
